Jennifer Stewart, Managing Partner

Jennifer Stewart is the Managing Partner of Beacon Bay Holdings (BBH). She brings 20 years of experience as an investor, operating executive and entrepreneur. Prior to founding BBH, Jennifer was the Managing Partner of JSTAR Holdings and a lead principal in multiple private equity investments with aggregate invested equity capital in excess of $110 million. Some of these investments were in partnership with Berggruen Holdings, a private investment firm with over $2 billion of assets, where she also served as a Managing Director; and The 180 Group, where she also served as a Managing Partner. This portfolio of investments generated top tier investment returns and nurtured strong companies that have an aggregate current enterprise value greater than one billion dollars.

Jennifer currently serves as a board member or in a similar capacity for Dental Lab Holdings and Heart Brand Foods and has previously been a board member of numerous companies, including FGXI International (Nasdaq:FGXI – sold to Essilor International, Euronext:EI, in 2010), Lee Cooper (sold to Iconix (Nasdaq:ICON) in 2013) and The Mexmil Company (sold to Triumph Group (NYSE: TGI) in 2009).

Jennifer began her private equity investing career at Bear Stearns Merchant Banking (now Irving Place Capital), where she participated in various investments in the retail, services, manufacturing and healthcare sectors as well as the fundraising of BSMB’s first institutional private equity fund. Her previous operating roles include Interim Chief Executive Officer of The Mexmil Company, Vice President of Business Development at BankPass, and various roles at Exxon.

Jennifer earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with Honors and High Distinction from The Pennsylvania State University. She is active in The Association for Corporate Growth, The Turnaround Management Association, Opus Connect, Vistage, and Gen-Next. Jennifer enjoys international travel, theater, tech gadgets and spending time with family.

Brandon Rath, Vice President

Brandon Rath is Vice President of Beacon Bay Holdings.  Over the last decade, Brandon has collaborated with family offices, private equity and venture capital firms and their portfolio companies.  His efforts have included conducting extensive due diligence, structuring complex transactions, implementing strategies for measurable growth and improvements and sourcing new investments in leading consumer, technology and media, industrials and manufacturing, healthcare, real estate, and financial services companies.

Brandon applies his values and convictions to continue to grow Beacon Bay Holdings as a marquee investment firm with an unwavering focus on developing unique insights and investment opportunities and creating significant value for its capital partners.

Brandon earned a J.D. from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Irvine.  He currently serves on the board of The Breast Cancer Fundraiser, which raises money for integrative care programs for women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Jeffrey A. Goh, Operating Partner

Jeff Goh is an Operating Partner of Beacon Bay Holdings for the Heart Brand Foods portfolio company.  Heart Brand Foods makes great-tasting, heart-healthy food products featuring plant sterols, which are clinically proven to lower LDL cholesterol and reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

Previously, Jeff served as the CEO of Two Chefs on a Roll, a designer and producer of savory and bakery private label food products, where he led the company’s dramatic expansion. Bakkavor Group acquired the company in 2008. Additionally, Jeff served as Senior Vice President and Partner for Artal Food Industries, where he launched Mankattan Bread, the first national bakery brand in China and grew the company to service over 4,000 retail stores daily; Managing Director of PepsiCo in China, where he was awarded the High Performance Leadership Award; and Division Manager at Procter & Gamble, where he developed and executed on a strategy to open the Shanghai/East China market and grew sales to $102 million annually.

An active member of his community, Jeff serves on several advisory boards, including that of the Grocery Manufacturers Association Chairman’s Advisory Council, the Orange County Human Relations Commission and the Orange Lutheran High School. He is a twelve-year member of VISTAGE (the world’s largest CEO membership organization). Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, from which he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was recognized as Most Outstanding Student.

Michael Parekh, Technology Partner

Michael Parekh is a Technology Partner of Beacon Bay Holdings. An established angel investor in disruptive technology, he was a Wall Street veteran for over two decades and was a former Partner and Managing Director at Goldman Sachs. Michael has many years of experience in identifying, advising, incubating and investing in entrepreneurs focused on building industry disruptive businesses.

In 1994, Michael founded the Goldman Sachs Internet Research group, which eventually comprised of many analysts covering major internet segments around the world. In the 1990’s, Michael was the lead research analyst for the IPOs of leading Internet companies like UUNET, Yahoo!, eBay, DoubleClick, GeoCities, Exodus, Real Networks, Checkpoint Software, Red Hat, LoudCloud, Equinix, amongst many other pioneering companies, as well as covering companies like America Online and Netscape. He was an Institutional Investor (II) ranked analyst for the Internet for many years. His focus spanned Internet sectors ranging from software, access, infrastructure and mobile, to online consumer, commerce and content companies worldwide. He also advised incumbent companies around the world on their Internet strategies and acquisitions, helping many in building and spinning out internet versions of their core businesses.

Michael earned an MBA at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and Bachelor of Science in Finance at Auburn University. He now avidly follows technology and internet trends, actively invests in internet companies, and serves as advisor and/or board member of various companies.
